Sherburne-Earlville Buildings and Grounds

                   
      * The department is made up of custodial staff, maintenance staff , clerical staff and grounds crew, all headed by the Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds.
   
      * There are a total of 27 employees in the Department: 1 Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, 1 Head Custodian, 2 Building Custodian, 2 Maintenance Mechanics, 2 Grounds Laborers, 1  Clerk, 13 HS/MS Custodial workers and 6 Elementary Custodial workers.
   
      * We have three shifts 7am – 3:30p, 3:30p – 12 midnight, and 11p – 7:30am which cover each school day and events in the evenings that go on in both the High School/Middle School and     Elementary buildings. Weekend coverage is on a rotating basis.
   
      * We clean and maintain the District buildings of almost 400,000 square feet on a daily basis.
   
      * The average custodial worker will clean an area of almost 22,000 square feet on a daily basis. This is the same as cleaning over 14 houses, at 1500 square feet each per day and then doing it  all over again the next day.
   
      * The District owns 475 acres of which we mow and maintain nearly 100 acres.
   
      * As a District, we have made continuous improvements and updates to our buildings including heating and cooling control systems, fire alarm systems, fuel storage tanks, swimming pool   
          controls and many other items that affect the comfort and safety of our staff and students.
